The Story

This new expansion exposes a high-alpine bowl skiing experience in terrain previously exclusive to heli-skiing. It was utilized last year when Kicking Horse hosted the Freeride World Tour, the first of its kind in Canada. Kicking Horse was the only tour stop in North America and they proved the power of Canadian Champaign powder! This level of event requires a large area of ungroomed, natural snow that keeps professional skiers and boarders guessing throughout their run. All of that was found in the Ozone Bowl. Lots of deep, natural powder combined with wide open bowl skiing allowed athletes to cut their own lines. Everyone loved it so much, they’re coming back this year!

The Spread

This massive expansion includes the double black diamond Ozone, as well as Middle Ridge, a black diamond area with sections of steep tree line skiing that allows skiers to drop into Rudi’s Bowl, a double black diamond area designed to test your skills to the max!

If you want to access these wicked areas, you gotta work for it. To reach Ozone, trek to Whitewall, ski or ride to the saddle and hike to the top of the face. For Middle Ridge, a dedicated bootpack will head up from the bottom of Feuz Bowl. Don’t let a little walking scare you because big rewards await anyone willing to hike! Need a map? Click here.
